Comments: Sir Paul brings his "Freshen Up" tour to Green Bay, his first-ever appearance in the city and (I think) his first Wisconsin show since 2016 (and I believe his only Wisconsin show outside of Milwaukee). The week before his 77th birthday, it is evident that he has lost a step with both his vocal range and his guitar playing, but he still puts on a great show. The tour is supporting his recent #1 album, "Egypt Station," and I have to admit that although my initial reaction to the album was "meh," they translated well live ("Fuh You" being a particular highlight). Overall, the setlist is a nice overview of his nearly 60-year catalog, and although it was a little painful to watch him strain to hit some of the high notes, for the most part he is still performing these songs as well as he did 25 years ago. I would never have believed when I saw him for the first time in 1989 (when I was certain it would be my last chance to catch him live), I would attend one of his concerts nearly 30 years later. I went to the show with TallTaper. Though my master recording is really good, his is really, really good -- so I am posting that one. This source has a little stray clapping between songs, but nothing at all distracting -- and no interference during songs from what I could hear. This is a really great capture ... I would venture to say that it is probably one of his final shows, but I think I said the same thing when I posted my recording of his Pittsburgh 2010 show. So who knows? He might still be performing in 2049. Many thanks to TallTaper for the share. Mp3 samples are included in the comments.
